Anti-Racism Ambassadors from three of our Gold Award-winning TRSA schools, The Belvedere Academy, St Hilda’s, and Childwall Sports and Science Academy made us proud during a recent ministerial visit to Liverpool.
Accompanied by TRSA Manager Jude Agis, they engaged with the Rt Hon Bridget Phillipson MP, Minister for Women and Equalities; Baroness Doreen Lawrence of Clarendon OBE, Chair of the Race Equality Engagement Group (REEG); and Councillor Liam Robinson, Leader of Liverpool City Council.

Our young Ambassadors asked insightful, challenging and probing questions about how the Government intends to strengthen the fight against racism, while speaking with real confidence and conviction about their ambitions and the work that they, and the Foundation has led in schools. They were outstanding, impressing all with their confidence and conviction to show what TRSA is all about: empowering young people to challenge racism and influence change.
Lucy Horne, Head of Corporate Equality and Improvement at Liverpool City Council, who invited AWF and our TRSA ambassadors to this event, had the following to say about our TRSA Ambassadors.
“What a phenomenal group of young people. Our massive thanks for sharing their experiences, ideas and hopes for the future. Their contributions were incredibly powerful, thoughtful and uplifting – they made a lasting impression on everyone in the room and are a real credit to their schools.”
A special thank you and well done to The Belvedere Academy, Childwall SSA, and St Hilda’s for your continued commitment to empowering young people and creating opportunities for their voices to be heard.
